The goal of the Upstate Strategic Plan is to achieve Upstate's vision to be the leading regional academic medical center in the nation. When the Strategic Plan launched in January 2010, the effort was the result of a nearly three-year 'Engaging Excellence' process that drew upon the ideas and energy of hundreds of people — employees, faulty, students, patients, volunteers, and affiliated members of the community. The process identified five goals as key to the institution's success.
